President’s Message 2007/2008
Dear Colleagues:
Every new year brings fresh challenges, particularly to professionals in technical services. NYTSL should present some exciting programs on new developments in the profession, and opportunities to network with old colleagues and meet new ones. I’m pleased to welcome the following new officers to our Board:
I join the membership in thanking our out-going President Eric Wolf, Secretary Heidi Hass, Program Co-Chair Sherman Clarke , and Spring Reception Co-Chair Alice Pidgeon for their great service to NYTSL. They have left the organization in good shape after (in some cases) many years of service.
This year we’ll try to continue to bring engaging speakers on current issues to our podium for our two annual dinner meetings. Topics under consideration at this stage include: RDA, Scriblio and the CONSER standard record. Check this web site for announcements. As in years past, we will host our annual Spring Reception for Library and Information Science Professionals and Library Science Graduate Students.
NYTSL hopes to make the coming year one of learning, networking and socializing among the city’s technical services librarians and info rmation professionals.
Sincerely,
Mark F. Bresnan
NYTSL President, 2007-2008
